🚀 Our why

Centering African creativity.

Raven AfriKulture (RAK) was born out of necessity, a response to the silence. For too long, African culture existed on the margins of Scotland’s creative scene. What began as a few grassroots events has grown into a powerful platform that brings together artists, dreamers, culture-makers, and communities. RAK is where African creativity lives, grows, and takes up space boldly and beautifully. Our mission is to spotlight and celebrate African art, music, and creative expression, not as a side note, but as a driving force in Scotland’s cultural conversation.

We envision a future where African creativity is radically visible not just included, but centered. RAK exists to make that future real. We’re guided by values that keep us grounded: equity, by centering African voices with the dignity and representation they deserve; inclusion, by creating space for collaboration and collective growth; and visibility, because we’re here to be seen on stages, in galleries, in public discourse, and in policy

I brought my mum, my sister, and my friends. We laughed, danced, and learned something new. It’s one of the most welcoming spaces I’ve ever been in.

Raven AfriKulture is not just curating events, they are curating belonging. In a time when cultural identity often feels erased, RAK is building something rare: a space where African creativity thrives without compromise. Scotland needs this.
